Nestled in the heart of Thailand, Momtik Camp is located in the charming village of Ban Hua Chang, within the picturesque province of Mahasarakham. This region, known as Isaan, is a captivating and culturally rich area that offers a unique and authentic Thai experience.
Isaan, located in the northeastern part of Thailand, is renowned for its warm hospitality and vibrant traditions. It’s a place where you can immerse yourself in the beauty of rural life, savor local delicacies, and witness the enchanting spirit of Thai culture.
Mahasarakham, the province where Momtik Camp is situated, is a hidden gem with a blend of old-world charm and modernity. From lush rice fields to bustling markets, Mahasarakham offers a glimpse into the diverse tapestry of Thai life.
Momtikcamp has a fenced area of more than 2.4 hectares where we can find all the necessary services to enjoy, prepare classes and play with the little ones.
The land is divided into different buildings where we can find the main house where Mrs. Prapakorn Kutchaikul lives with her family, as well as an isolated building prepared exclusively for volunteers. In this building there are individual rooms with a/c and private bathrooms with hot water. They are completely new installations made in 2023.
There is also a large amount of materials and content to be able to work in class, from English and teaching books, to posters, index cards, games, blackboards, markers and other work material in English. Much of this material was donated by the different schools in the area and is available for volunteers to use.
The facilities also have a large outdoor kitchen where somedays Thai cooking classes will be taught, as well as a large outdoor dining room where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Distributed throughout the land we can find a path that will take us to explore and enjoy all kinds of plants, orchids, orchard, areas with animals, a beautiful lake with a bridge and a large esplanade where you can run and play with the kids. This trail that goes through volunteering is also an excellent place for anyone who enjoys running.
Within the volunteering area we can also find different spots with tables and bench for play and enjoy different games with the kids.
